In 2014 we started working a SA/26 project and found out pretty quick there was a lacking supply of components and knowledge to successfully complete a semiautomatic version of this unique firearm. We had tackled all the AK variants, Yugoslavian, German and British conversions and even our own M16 look alike completely milled for a solid forging.

The following shows the bolt conversion we do for our semi auto CZ 24/26 (RMZ 26) The photo below shows our converted bolt in the foreground compared to an original bolt. Note we remove the sear engagement (the step on the front left-hand side). We also remove additional material to allow the modified bolt with clearance to avoid our blocking bar required in the semi auto receiver. The side walls are also milled to work with our striker component. This also eliminate the full auto follower divot visible on the rear most wall.
CZ Project
With more than a year in development our semi auto version of the legendary Samopal 24/26 went out for ATF approval in July 2015. On October 29, 2016 we received the determination letter and approval to manufacture our model RMZ-24/26. A copy of this ATF letter can be found above in the parts link to be viewed or downloaded. We are very excited about this and you will see new developments in offerings and instruction on how to do this yourself with our approved parts. We look forward to a working partnership with any builders willing to take on the project. There will also be finished guns and receivers available to transfer to your local FFL very soon.
RMZ Semi Auto Trigger (updated)
The Fire control group (FCG) on the left is an unaltered original group from a de-milled parts kit. The group on the right is our semi auto configuration. We have replaced the original sear with our US made component. This eliminates the follower leg or lobe which works in conjunction with the original bolt for full auto capability. To stay within the acceptable limits of federal law you must be sure you do not have ALL components required to make a “machine gun” in one place. It is good practice to be aware of all the parts on hand at any given time. Disabling the FCG before staring to build your receiver is advised to avoid any NFA issues.
